Hellenic Parliament

An Athens Experts Choice!

The Hellenic Parliament building, also known as the Old Royal Palace or the Greek Parliament Building, is an iconic landmark located in Syntagma Square in the heart of Athens, Greece. Originally constructed in the 19th century as a royal palace for King Otto, it later became the seat of the Greek Parliament following the establishment of the modern Greek state. Adjacent to the Parliament building is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a monument dedicated to Greek soldiers who have died in battle and whose remains were never identified. The Tomb is guarded by the Evzones, elite soldiers of the Greek Presidential Guard, and is a symbol of remembrance and national pride.
