Athens’ first tequila and mezcal bar, Barro Negro is a passion project brought to life by two friends and their love of Mexico and agave spirits, George Kavaklis and Stelios Papadopoulos. Their mission? To shift the misconceptions around tequila and mezcal. Launched in 2019, Barro Negro Athens has quickly climbed the rankings of the most sought-after lists and awards in the global drinks’ scene, also ranking among the top 100 bars for several consecutive years - no.70 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 list and no.55 at The Top 500 Bars 2023.
